Some things to Consider when bringing a Ridgeback home

Their Stomach Rules All!

Ridgebacks are incredibly food driven. It’s pretty rare to find one that is a finicky eater. While this makes feeding them pretty easy, it also means that any food remotely in range is fair game to them. They will counter-surf with wild abandon, shamelessly steal food from toddlers, and even drink an unattended cappuccino on the coffee table.

But this can be managed! You may find yourself keeping your kitchen counters clean and any interrupted meal may be temporarily stored in the microwave. I have found scat mats on countertops to be safe and effective. Monitoring your puppy and setting the boundaries is also required.  All family members need to protect their food with a firm “No!” and your Ridgeback will learn that they do not have liberty to be naughty.
